Biography

Tologon Kasymbekov (January 15, 1931 – June 16, 2011) was a prominent Kyrgyz writer, novelist, and screenwriter, widely recognized as a Hero of the Kyrgyz Republic (Kyrgyz Respublikasynyn Baatyry). He is celebrated as a master of historical fiction in Central Asian literature. Born in the village of Ak-Kyya in the Jalal-Abad Region, Kasymbekov graduated from the Faculty of Philology at the Kyrgyz State University.
